Brothers booked in beating

Two Orchard Mesa men were arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of burglary and assault.

Matthias Martin Brehm, 20, and Malachi Louis Brehm, 22, both of 2841 Morningside Court, are suspected of entering into a home in the 300 block of Hill Avenue early Sunday and assaulting a man with a baseball bat or a pipe. The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where doctors immediately performed surgery. The victim received a text message prior to being assaulted that said “We’re coming to get you,” but the victim texted back “you have the wrong person,” according to an arrest affidavit.

Man, 18 accused of assault

Roy L. Baker, 18, 3082 F 3/4 Road, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony assault of an elderly woman, who fell to the ground after being slapped, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victim is older than 60 years, according to the affidavit.

Stabbing suspects sought

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department seeks information about a stabbing last week in Clifton.

Deputies said an adult man was stabbed near 31 and E 1/2 roads after an attempted robbery around 3 p.m. on Nov. 3. The man was standing outside his vehicle on E 1/2 Road when he was approached by two men. The man was stabbed when he refused to give the men money.

He then drove himself to the hospital and was treated and released that same day. Witnesses are asked to call investigators at 244-3261 or Mesa County Crime Stoppers at 241-STOP.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

• A vandal caused damage estimated at more than $1,000 to a car parked Sunday in the 400 block of Independent Avenue.

• Alexandria Castillo, 20, was arrested Nov. 1 at St. Mary’s Hospital on suspicion of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

• A vehicle was reported stolen Sunday in the 2900 block of North Avenue. The vehicle and items inside it were valued at just more than $2,000.

• A home in the 400 block of Alamo Street was vandalized with paint balls.
