A $13 million project for rebuilding a stretch of Colorado Highway 13 between Rifle and Meeker has been suspended for the winter months, state highway officials said Thursday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said work is tentatively scheduled to resume in April or May.
The resurfacing work along a five-mile section at Rio Blanco Divide includes the addition of paved shoulders, improved embankments, drainage systems, signs and striping. The work adds to improvements that were completed in 2007
It’s funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and contracted to Elam Construction of Grand Junction.
