Colorado State troopers investigate a truck wreck which spread more than 45,000 pounds of broken glass on 1-70 in De Beque Canyon near mile marker 56 on Wednesday. The driver of the truck said that his trailer turned over around a curve. Traffic was stopped eastbound for a over an hour. No one was hurt.

Glass was spread on the highway for hundreds of feet.

The driver of the truck was not hurt. He was hauling more than 45,000 pounds of plate glass from Aurora, Utah, to Aurora Colorado.

Glass was broken over a a wide area. Eastbound I-70 traffic was stopped during the cleanup.

First responders and emergency vehicles had to travel over the glass.

Large plates of glass were destroyed.

Troopers were investigating speed being a factor in the crash. The load of glass may have shifted sending the trailer out of control, according to witnesses at the scene.
