He said he was able to play a round of golf in Montrose in January, but the local courses have been closed due to snow and ice. Lincoln Park just opened their driving range last week, and an employee at the golf course said that the main golf course itself could possibly reopen this weekend.

Three Canada geese fly past a sunset at the Confluence Park in Delta. The park is popular with waterfoul in the winter. A third of the main lake is open water with the rest frozen. The geese on the lake always seem to fly around sunset.

Travis Cavender, a cook at Main Street Cafe, 504 Main Street in downtown Grand Junction is sauteing vegetables. The Mesa County Board of Health recognized 16 Mesa County retail food service establishments for its Blue ribbon Award for Performance in 2009. Main Street Cafe was one of the winners.

A sign has been placed on an island on the Colorado River near the Firth Street bridge — obviously as a joke. Any takers might want to cut a deal soon, as the spring runoff is coming soon.
