A mule deer fawn and a yearling find plenty to eat on a farm southeast of Montrose near the Uncompahgre River. Some deer stay near rivers in the lower valleys of Colorado year around. The deer’s coat takes on a rusty color in the summer and early fall contrasting with the normal grayish hue in the winter.

Dr. Larry Copeland helped bring a new era in sports medicine to the Grand Valley when he opened Western Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Grand Junction. After 45 years in orthopedic medicine and nearing his 73rd birthday, Copeland decided it was time to retire.
The city of Virginia Beach has embarked on a never-ending project to dredge that sand and haul it back. Today, this is one big mother of a beautiful, white, sandy beach. Proper footwear is a must. If the sand’s hot, you’d better wear flip-flops, or you’ll burn your feet. At water’s edge, you can barefoot it in the surf. The sand is harder, thus easier on your calves for this long trek.
