It’s not a long drive from Grand Junction to Carson Lake on top of Grand Mesa. Once you make the trek up Lands End Road, you;ll be rewarded with beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife to watch, and you can check out the view from the Lands End Observatory. Don’t forget your fishing gear: There are plenty of wild fresh brook trout in the lake.
An overlook of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon’s basement rock provides a place to contemplate the canyon’s geology and beauty.
