Common redpolls normally are birds of the north but this winter the birds are being seen throughout the Wstern Slope after irrupting (migrated searching for food) as far south as Colorado. Colorado lives on a complex system of water law called the doctrine of prior appropriation, which alone is enough to make eyes mist over. A series of seminars on water management is set for February at the Water Center at CMU.
