Holding a rolled-up copy of information from Colorado Off-Highway Vehicles Organization, Grand Junction Harley-Davidson dealership owner Scott Lindsay says he feels the Bureau of Land Management’s new draft management plan will have a negative impact on the local economy. Lindsay said that dirt bikes account for 20 percent of his business and that the BLM’s draft plan calls for the closure of many of the area’s trails.

A Red-tailed Hawk flies from a tree in the James M. Robb Colorado River State, Connected Lakes Section. The raptor can grow to more than 2 feet in length and can weight as much as 4 pounds, with a wingspan of 4 feet. Red-tailed Hawks will hunt snakes, turtles, frogs, lizards, ducks, bobwhite, crows, starlings and other birds.
