Colorado’s ski resorts use millions of gallons of water each year in their snowmaking efforts. With many rivers and reservoirs running low, some resorts already are feeling a pinch in their water supplies.
It’s not uncommon to find Paonia Reservoir near-empty in late fall, but this year the reservoir is lower than usual in order for some work to be done on the outlet structure.
