More than 100 people turned out Saturday for a benefit breakfast for Jenna Fisher at Grand Junction Harley-Davidson, 2747 Crossroads Blvd. Proceeds, with plates of food selling $10 each, will help pay the Fisher family’s medical bills and living expenses, according to Traci Stapleton, the dealership’s marketing director. Fisher received a new heart Thursday during an 8-hour transplant operation in Denver.

A Clifton Fire Protection firefighter makes sure a fire is out in a Dodge pickup near the Clifton exit on I-70 just after noon Thursday. The truck, driven by Joshua Hughes of the Grand Valley, started smoking and eventually showed flames after he stopped to check it. He notified 911 that the truck had some old ammunition in it. Authorities shut down westbound as a precaution for over a half hour. No ammo exploded and no one was hurt.
