Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies search a car after the driver, Ryan Thompson, crashed near 29 1/4 Road and North Avenue during a traffic stop by Grand Junction police Friday.
Grand Junction police look at a trash bag near the scene of a rollover on I-70B just west of the 29 Road Viaduct Friday evening. The driver was the only occupant of the truck and was taken to the hospital. Police are investigating why the driver drove so far off of the road and into the drain ditch for no apparent reason.

Grand Junction police officers search containers in the yard of construction pipe business for a man who robbed Twice Upon A Time Bookshop, 2885 North Ave. No.B, at gunpoint Thursday. According to Grand Junction Police Department spokesperson Kate Porras, officers are seeking a heavyset white male about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall with dark greasy hair and some facial hair possibly wearing a blue shirt. The man ran toward WalMart following the robbery, she said.

The East Middle School Bears cheerleaders perform a jump as they practice in the park near the school.
