Brittlynn Jade O’Dell, 9, won first place in the 20-and-under golf tournament on July 5 at Broken Tee Golf Course in Englewood. Brittlynn was first out of 13 girls and was the only girl from Grand Junction, according to the photo submission. Jesse, Ginny and Kaylani get some time with Hercules a miniature horse during the Itty Bitty day camp offered by Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado this summer. There were 20 kids ages 4–7 who attended the camp for grieving children that had the theme Giddy Up Grief. “Kids explored their feelings through activities like storytelling, a stick horse rodeo, a trail ride and some time with miniature horses. The activities were designed to be fun and interactive for the children but also provided the opportunity for the kids to express their grief and see other kids coping with loss,” said the email submission from Alyssa Hampson with Hospice.
