You Said It, April 19, 2008

Friday, April 18, 2008

After fair warning of the content of Mesa State College’s production of “Angels in America,” I thought the show was respectfully, tastefully and professionally produced.

I’m so mad I could spit! Those nasty farmers who are always burning ditches and block my view with their old tractors and pickups, have plowed their fields. The wind came up and I couldn’t see the mountains and my house is so dirty from the dust. Why do they have to plow anyway? I think I might just move back to Boulder or maybe New Yawk City where the real people are.

People who have the elm trees with the horrible seeds that come down like a snowstorm, covering every surface, and produce a forest overnight should be charged a nuisance fee.

I was outraged to read the sentences for Eric Deleon and Thomas English. They tried to commit murder and now we get to pay for their education. Who is going to pay for the education of Martin Martinez? He has to live with the results of their violence for the rest of his life. Makes a person wonder who the criminals are related to in the justice system.

I’m writing this as a young mother myself. I don’t think it is anyone’s business who we date. Criminal record or not, anyone can be capable of violence. I think girls that are victims of domestic violence should not be called fools. We should be helping the victims, not criticizing them or their families.

Yes, cats in Mesa County are allowed to roam. Yes, I have the right to protect my property. Don’t be surprised when your cat doesn’t come home.

To those people who move into existing neighborhoods, such as around farms and ranches, and then want the neighborhood to change: They need to move someplace else. We don’t care how it was where you came from, this is here and we like it.

How come me and about three others are the only ones doing the speed limit on Fifth Street through the porkway construction? I adore the hand signals. Thanks GJPD for busting your donkey between 10 and 2. Great work hours. Can I go 45 mph the rest of the time like everyone else?

To the lady in the park that let her puppy play with my puppy for 15 minutes before informing me that your dog has kennel cough: I think that was very irresponsible of you as a pet owner.  I checked with my vet and dogs are still contagious, even being on antibiotics. I suppose you also take your kids to the playground when they have chickenpox or go to work when you have the flu.

The greatest threat America faces is liberalism. We can’t suffer eight years of left-wing socialists assaulting freedom. Does Barack Obama love the country? It’s a legitimate question. He surrounds himself with people who are angry and do nothing but tear the nation down.
