Aspen considers putting patios in parking places

ASPEN — The Aspen City Council is hoping to encourage pedestrians and outdoor dining by putting patios in some of its parking places.

The main parking spots being considered for the so-called parklets are mostly located in an area the city considers restaurant row.

According to the Aspen Daily News, the patios could be installed before the winter season’s end as part of an experiment to promote pedestrian and bicycle use over cars.
