Auto Zone robbed at knifepoint
Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Auto Zone auto-parts store at 2848 North Ave. shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Grand Junction Police Department spokeswoman Kate Porras, a man walked into the Auto Zone as the store neared closing time, brandished a knife, took some money, then left the store.
Two employees and one customer were in the store at the time of the robbery, and none of them were hurt, Porras said.
The suspect was described to police as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, Porras said.
A police radio report mentioned the suspect might be a former employee of the store, but Porras said officers had not determined whether the man had any relationship with the store.
