Body found at Corn Lake
A body was found Saturday just west of Corn Lake in a densely vegetated area about 30 feet from a well-traveled walking trail.
A family reported the body to park officials around 3:30 p.m., according to a Colorado State Parks ranger. The ranger said the body was that of an adult male with no apparent signs of foul play.
Rangers and members of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department combed the area where the body was found. Officials taped off a section of the trail and directed families to walk down another path during the investigation.
Law enforcement officials declined to provide any other details Saturday and said the Mesa County Coroner’s Office will determine the man’s cause of death and release a report within the next few days.
Life went on as usual around the lake, with about two dozen people seen fishing, riding bikes or picnicking around the lake just an hour after the body was found.
