Book swap scheduled in Palisade
Altrusa of Palisade’s Book Swap & Give Away is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Palisade Town Plaza at Third and Main streets in Palisade.
Drop off books and look for a new-to-you read at this free exchange.
The organizers ask that no textbooks or encyclopedias be brought to this event, which is being held in conjunction with USA Today’s national “Make a Difference” program, according to a news release.

Book-signing set with Alaskan explorer
Jim Hale, author of “An Alaskan Life of High Adventure,” will be signing copies of his book from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Friday at Four Winds Coffee Shop, 1235 Bookcliff Ave.
“Through surviving earthquakes, avalanches, faulty single-engine plane crashes and the bitter cold, author Jim Hale recounts his adventures as a mountain guide and explorer,” according to a news release.
