Doctor’s office has food drive

• Roman Family Chiropractic, 2584 Patterson Road, will have its annual food drive through Nov. 21. Nonperishable and canned food items will be collected. Donors will receive a complimentary evaluation and 20-minute massage. Anyone donating two full bags of food will receive $10 off an hour massage. For information, call 243-8896.

Fundraising yard sale this weekend

• A fundraising yard sale for The Water Project Inc. will take place this weekend at 480 W. Fifth St. in Palisade. The project digs wells in Third World countries.

Grant to aid underage drinking fight

• The Grand Junction Police Department has received $45,000, to be split with Mesa State College, to enforce underage drinking laws. The GJPD will receive more than $30,000 for enforcement and Mesa State will receive more than $10,000 for underage drinking education programs.

Udall to visit Grand Junction

• Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Mark Udall will appear in Grand Junction on Wednesday to encourage early voting.
According to the Udall campaign, the candidate will appear with Congressman John Salazar, D-Colo., at 9:30 a.m. at the Mesa County Democratic Party’s headquarters, 251 Colorado Ave.

Meth presentation in Montrose

• MONTROSE — Along with local law enforcement and government, Marathon Oil Corp. is sponsoring a meth awareness program Oct. 23 at the Holiday Inn Express in Montrose.
The presentation, “Methamphetamines: A Blight on Society,” will be followed by questions and comments from the audience.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
