City kicks off listening tour May 6

The city of Grand Junction will start “Listening Tour” public meetings regarding public safety facilities on Thursday. A public meeting is scheduled in each City Council district over the next four weeks.

Community members are encouraged to give their impressions of the current state of facilities and any need for improvements. The entire tour is in three phases. First, Mesa State College students surveyed people at various locations. Results from those surveys will guide dialogue at the upcoming meetings. Following those meetings, the city will host a telephone town hall to wrap things up.

District B — 7 p.m. Thursday at Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel Auditorium, 736 24 1/2 Road.

District D — 3 p.m. May 14 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 3888 27 1/2 Road.

District C — 7 p.m. May 20 at Lincoln Park Barn, 910 N. 12th Street.

District E — 7 p.m. May 24 at Mesa County Fairgrounds Community Building, 2785 U.S. Highway 50.
