Clifton home destroyed by fire

Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Clifton early Sunday.

Clifton Fire Protection District personnel were called to 540 Pearce Ave. just before 2 a.m. and found the home engulfed in flames, Fire Chief Kent Holsan said.

The owner of the home, Lee Warren, moved into a retirement center three or four months ago and the home had been empty since then. The home also was in poor condition because of vandalism and lack of maintenance, Holsan said.

Damage to the home was estimated at more than $50,000.
