Colorado National Monument enters online contest
The Colorado National Monument stands to win $100,000 if it can dig up enough votes to win an online voting contest sponsored by Coca-Cola.
The National Park Foundation and the Coca-Cola Corporation have teamed up to offer a substantial prize to the most beloved national park in the country.
The monument is competing against some of the most well-known parks in the country, including the Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Park. Early Tuesday, the monument had pegged just 131 votes in the contest, which ends Aug. 31.
Go to http://www.livepositively.com/default.aspx#/americasparks/vote to cast your vote. Be sure to enter Colorado National Monument or the zip code 81521 into the search box.
The site will accept multiple votes from the same computer.
Joan Anzelmo, superintendent for the Colorado National Monument, said if selected as the $100,000 winner, the monument would use the money to provide programs to students in School District 51 as well as provide new services to the visiting public.
