Commenting is not available in this channel entry.Palisade was the only community that did a thorough analysis of the possible impacts of having a well-run professional style medical marijuana clinic. All the imagined fears and “reefer madness” rhetoric swayed the uninformed. Fear is a powerful motivator. Unfortunately, the motivation is mostly to be more fearful rather then motivating to self-educating on the subject matter. So here is the FEAR: Recreational use of marijuana regulated under the auspices of state-law mirroring alcohol regulation is far more acceptable, then allowing no regulated shops. Remember, part of the amendment allows private individuals to grow their own unregulated plants. Most would rather buy then grow. Home grown is far more likely to get into the hands of the under-aged vs going to “regulated” businesses to buy. Imagine if everyone could make their own hooch. How many more under-aged would have access? Aquafresca, Pugliese and Justman need to do a complete financial analysis based on real facts that are easily obtained through Palisade and their clinic. Off-the-cuff emotionally-based knee-jerk decision making processes are not the attractive attributes in elected officials. We already had that kind of commission with Meis and Rowland and Aquafresca. Justman and Pugliese owe the public better then that.
