Fantasy act: Club pays $1,261 fine
Fantasy, a strip club at 2258 Colex Drive, paid a fine for violating a state liquor law after a female dancer simulated oral sex on one woman and four men during an incident in January.
The club’s owner, Kevin Eardley, appeared before Grand Junction’s liquor board Wednesday for a review of the violation.
Eardley said the female dancer has since been fired and that changes in the club’s policy should ensure the club doesn’t again face a violation.
“Dancers can’t touch the customers, and I think that should cure the problem,” Eardley said during the meeting.
Fantasy had a similar violation on its first night of operation, but the club was issued a warning at that time, and no formal action was taken, according to city staff attorney DeLayne Merritt.
In lieu of closing for four days, Fantasy officials chose to pay a fine of $1,261 for the Jan. 16 violation. Fines are calculated on 20 percent of gross revenue from liquor sales for four days.
According to state liquor law, it is illegal for employees of a business with a liquor license to engage in or simulate sex acts in the workplace.
