Forum addresses value of public lands in local economies
Are public lands worth more to our local economies than simply being some place to go on Sundays?
The economic value of public lands always seems an appropriate topic, particularly when the economy is soft.
The Mesa County Conservation Forum and the Redifer Research Institute of Colorado Mesa University will host a public forum Tuesday to discuss how public lands contribute to local economies and how communities make decisions about using public lands.
Among the speakers are Grand Junction Mayor Tom Kenyon and Delta City Manager Joe Kerby, two men who understand the relationship between public economies and public lands.
