Fourth Street downtown reopened to through traffic

The intersection of Fourth and Main Streets will reopen to through traffic around noon today, a bit of good news for people heading downtown this weekend for the Art and Jazz Festival and commuters who travel through downtown.

Officials working on the Downtown Uplift project will be repairing irrigation lines on Main Street on Monday, so traffic on Main Street won’t be able to turn south onto Fourth Street. But southbound Fourth Street will reopen open during the repairs and throughout the remaining project.

The first phase of the project, between First and Fourth streets, is scheduled to be completed next month.
