Gladiators improve to 4-0 with rout

The Grand Junction Gladiators minor-league football team defeated the Rapid City (S.D.) Rough Riders 65-0 at Stocker Stadium on Saturday night.

The Gladiators improved to 4-0.

“We want to show there’s football on the Western Slope,” Gladiators coach Will Jones said. “We won’t be satisfied until we win a championship.”

The Gladiators, who led 53-0 at halftime, racked up six rushing touchdowns. Tommy Ransom had three, Nate Coca had two and Tony Kemper had one.

Marlon Alison also caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Brown.

After their bye week, the Glads next play June 23 against the Denver Titans at Shea Stadium.
