Keep the BLM on track
The sessions held this month to discuss roads and trails on Bureau of Land Management property in this region were important for letting the federal agency know what people think should be done with trails management locally.
But those who were unable to attend the comment sessions still have an opportunity to make their views known. They can submit comments by mail or by dropping them off in person at the BLM’s Grand Junction Field Office, 2815 H Road, Grand Junction, 81506.
The Grand Junction Field Office manages some 2,700 miles of roads and trails in this area, and uses include hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, off-road vehicle use and four-wheel driving. In many places, a variety of users co-exist on the same or nearby trails. But in some areas there are conflicts.
Let your voice be heard on the future of these trails. Check out the maps of trail zones at http://www.blm.gov and contact the BLM with your ideas about travel management.
