Mavericks’ Bingaman places sixth in Texas tourney

Colorado Mesa University golfer Brandon Bingaman shot a 1-under-par 212 to tie for sixth place Tuesday in the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at the Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.

The Mavericks took 14th place with a team score of 897 in the two-day, three-round event.

The Colorado School of Mines won the team title with 856, led by Michael Lee’s 210. CSU-Pueblo was second with 857 and St. Mary’s (Texas) took third with 858.

Kirby Corzell of St. Mary’s won the individual title with a 4-under 209.

Colorado Mesa’s Sean Robbins tied for 46th at 224, Matt Weiss carded a 228, Christopher Aiken shot 234, and Casey Knuepfer had a 238.

This was the Mavericks’ final fall tournament. Their season resumes in the spring.
