Monument offers free entry this weekend
This weekend marks the first of two fee-free weekends this summer at Colorado National Monument.
Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar announced that National Park Service sites are waiving entrance fees this weekend and on Aug. 14-15 to encourage Americans seeking affordable vacations to visit their national parks and national refuges.
In addition to the June and August dates, entrance fees will be waived for National Public Lands Day on Sept. 25.
Along with the free entry, Colorado National Monument is offering a series of ranger-led activities over the weekend.
Information is available at http://www.nps.gov/colm or by calling 858-3617, ext. 360.
