Music Scene: Bryan White

Bryan White

Experience a memorable holiday concert with Grammy award-winning country artist Bryan White on Friday, Dec. 10, at the Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St.

His “A Night to Remember Christmas Tour” will take White to venues in Oklahoma, Georgia and Kansas. The show is described as a blend of yuletide favorites plus, a number of White’s greatest hits and songs from his recently released CD “Dustbowl Dreams.”

A native of Oklahoma, White was born and raised in Lawton/Fort Sill. His parents and grandparents were musicians and singers, playing various styles of music and providing him a diverse musical background. However, right out of high school White packed up his guitar, drum sticks, angst, dreams and $500 and headed to Nashville to pursue a career in country music.

He has charted 17 singles on Billboard’s Country Charts, had six No. 1 singles, two platinum records, and two gold records and has won a Grammy, a CMA Horizon Award, and an ACM Top Male Vocalist award.

His songwriting has helped several other artists earn notice — Sawyer Brown and Diamond Rio landed top five positions on the charts with songs co-written by White, and Wynonna, Joe Diffie, LeAnn Rimes and Lila McCann have recorded songs he co-wrote. White has appeared on “The Tonight Show,” “Late Night With David Letterman,” NBC’s “The Today Show” and “CBS This Morning.”

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show, with guests Andy Griggs and Gary Lear, is at 7:30.  Tickets are $22 general admission and $35 reserved seats. Purchase tickets at http://www.ticketswest.com or call 866-464-2626.
