Recent storms have left snow to be measured in feet on Grand Mesa. Ski conditions are superb and the Grand Mesa Nordic Council is making it easy for novice cross-country skiers to master the art of gliding across the wintery landscape. Al Fornier, former ski coach at Colby College of
Waterville, Maine, offers weekly group and private adult ski lessons for all abilities.
In addition, the Nordic Council offers Grand Mesa Gliders, a ski program for youths ages 5-16, from beginners to racers. Lessons start Jan. 3 and include games, tour, races and outdoor education.
