Pair booked after meth sale to informant

Two men were arrested on suspicion of dealing methamphetamine after an informant for the Western Colorado Drug Task Force purchased drugs from both men, according to the men’s arrest affidavits.

Felipe Vasquez-Torrecillas, 40, and Dennis Ronald Candelaria, 47, were arrested after a confidential informant, while under surveillance, bought a quarter ounce of methamphetamine from the pair, according to the affidavit.

After the men were arrested Thursday, officers from the Grand Junction Police Department searched Vasquez’s home, 138 Dorothy Ave., and deputies from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department, searched Candelaria’s home at 524 28 1/2 Road.

At Vasquez’s home, the affidavit said, officers found five firearms and a quarter ounce of
methamphetamine. Because there were children present in his home, the Police Department said, he could face child abuse charges.
