Tanker spill shuts Hwy 65 for a time

Highway 65 through Plateau Canyon was closed earlier today in both directions for a number of hours, as emergency crews worked to clean up a spill from an oilfield services truck, at mile marker 55.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that a 300-gallon tote was dislodged from a BJ Services truck. The spill hasn’t reached nearby Plateau Creek.

According to their website, BJ Services, a Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE: BHI) company, is a leading provider of field development and production enhancement services.

Check back for updates as they become available.
