River Awareness float is Saturday

The 13th annual River Awareness float on the North Fork of the Gunnison River will take place Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m., hosted by the Gunnison Gorge Anglers chapter of Trout Unlimited, the North Fork River Improvement Association and Western Slope Environmental Resource Council.

The four-hour float, which is open to all, begins at the Pleasure Park and ends at Confluence Park in Delta. The trip includes navigating the newly reconstructed and boater-friendly Hartland Diversion dam.

Post-float activities include lunch, music, river-themed educational programs and a river-gear silent auction.

Cost is $20 for adults, $15 for youths under 12, and it includes lunch, shuttle and float.
