Rodriguez moves to semifinals, Seely, Chatfield lose in quarterfinals

Fruita Monument’s Issac Rodriguez, had to come from behind in a high-scoring 11-10 victory in his Class 5A 145-pound quarterfinal match. Both were competing in the Colorado State Wrestling Championships in Denver. Rodriguez defeated Derrik Ortiz of Pine Creek.

His teammates, Jacob Seely and Colt Chatfield lost their quarterfinal matches. Seely lost 4-2 to David citwood of Horizon at 170 pounds, and Chatfield was pinned by Nick Debruyn of Lakewood in 2:16. Both now drop to the consolation bracket with an opportunity to finish as high as third place.
