Body found this morning believed that of missing Loma woman
A body believed to be that of a Loma woman missing since Saturday afternoon was discovered this morning.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department said the body, thought to be the remains of 62-year-old Roxanne Kostka, was located around 9:45 a.m. between N and O roads, and 15 and 16 roads, not too far from Kostka’s home.
New information in the case suggested Kostka wanted to harm herself, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies are working with the Mesa County Coroner’s Office to determine cause and manner of death, while confirming identity.
Kostka was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Saturday near her home in the 400 block of M Road in Loma.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s search and rescue volunteers and Colorado National Guard assisted a search which started Sunday.
