Seven out of 10 D51 third-graders read at or above grade level

Seventy percent of District 51 third-graders scored proficient or better on this year’s Colorado Student Assessment Program reading test, according to the Colorado Department of Education. That’s up 2 percentage points from 2010.

The department of education released CSAP reading test data for third-graders Tuesday. Seventy-three percent of third-graders statewide scored proficient or above on the test, administered this February.

Orchard Avenue Elementary third-graders had the highest rate of proficiency or above - 92 percent - in District 51, while Nisley Elementary had the lowest, at 47 percent.

The remainder of the district’s CSAP results in other grades and subjects will be released in late July or early August.
