GJ grad Medina helps CU win title

Grand Junction High School graduate Martin Medina finished 13th Saturday at the Pac-12 cross country championships at the Robinson Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita, Calif., helping the University of Colorado win its second straight title. Medina’s time of 23 minutes, 49 seconds in the 8-kilometer race was one minute behind the winning time from Lawi Lalang.

The Buffs had all seven of their runners in the top 20, with only the top 5 counting toward the team score of 49 points. Medina, a senior, was the fifth CU runner to cross the finish line.
