College Skiing

Mesa’s Bosman third in 15K

Brooke Bosman had another successful day at the U.S. Collegiate Ski Association national championships Friday, placing third in the 15-kilometer freestyle for her first podium finish.

Bosman, who also runs cross country for Mesa State, finished in 47 minutes, 17 seconds, only four seconds behind Hillary Boyce of St. Olaf, who placed second. Western State’s Jamie Woelk won the race in 44:32.

Kelsey Follett, another cross country runner/Nordic skier, placed 15th (51.47) and Dustin Wansrath was 19th (40.24) in the men’s race. The women’s team finished fourth in the freestyle race, the men’s eighth.

Amanda Moore placed 25th (57.59), Megan McGrath 27th (58.37) and Ann Carlin 31st (1:04.17). In the men’s race, Tre Anastasia was 33rd (42.21) and Louis Hotchkiss 42nd (48.24).
