Randall wins Crag Crest Run

Former Plateau Valley High School standout runner Glenn Randall set a course record Sunday to win the Crag Crest Run on Grand Mesa.

Randall won the race in 1 hour, 14 minutes, 32 seconds and finished more than 25 minutes ahead of the next runner.

Mesa State College student Kenny Withrow finished in 1:40:09 to take second. Terence Bercume took third (1:41:40) and Scott Vig was fourth (1:43:21).

Twenty-one runners completed the race.

Pfau wins Cadet Girls Nationals

Cody Pfau had her sights set on reaching the Fargo National finals, but she did more than that.

The Parachute 16-year-old won the Cadet Girls Nationals at 101 pounds Saturday in Fargo, N.D., and she did it without giving up one point in five matches.

Pfau pinned three of her four opponents leading up to the final, where she defeated Julia Long of Wyoming by technical fall, 13-0.
