Student writers to be recognized at banquet

Students who wrote winning essays in support of the right to bear arms will be recognized tonight at the Pro Second Amendment Committee’s annual banquet.

Former Sheriff Richard Mack of Graham County, Ariz., is to speak at the banquet for the organization.

Mack lectures and gives seminars on constitutional issues related to gun control, law enforcement, states’ rights, “the farce, otherwise known as the drug war,” and the oath of office, according to his Web site, sheriffmack.com. He is to speak on the necessity to restore the Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

Tickets for his speech can be purchased at the door for $15 per person.

Mack is to speak at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 2400 Consistory Court.
