Stuff not on display at museum can be viewed at special tour

It’s unlikely that a night at the Museum of the West would include statues coming to life, but it will give a generous peek at the museum’s artifacts that are behind closed doors.

A Behind-the-Scenes Tour will be offered from 5:30–7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the museum, 462 Ute Ave.

Visitors can see hundreds of artifacts currently not on display, as well as laboratories and work areas. The exhibition halls also will be open for a museum-after-dark experience.

Cost is $5 per person.
