This Week in the Legislature, Feb. 27, 2012

This is deadline week for the first bills that were introduced during the session, meaning that work on bills that started in one chamber must be completed so that legislation can be sent to the other chamber by week’s end.

■ Today: The House Agriculture, Livestock & Natural Resources Committee is to consider a bill dealing with nitrates in the state’s rivers and lakes.

■ Wednesday: The Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee will look at a bill to allow county commissioners to be elected by districts.

■ Next week: The Joint Budget Committee will continue its work on finalizing next year’s budget in advance of the next revenue forecast, due by month’s end.

All floor action and committees can be watched or heard on the Legislature’s website, http://www.leg.state.co.us.
