This Week in the Legislature, March 19, 2012

With the release of the March revenue forecast, lawmakers will finalize their work on next year’s spending plan.

■ Today: State economists will release a revenue forecast to the Joint Budget Committee.

■ Tuesday: The House Judiciary Committee will consider a bill imposing greater penalties to anyone who provides false information during elections with the intent of deterring voting.

■ Wednesday: The Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee will hear testimony about a bill that requires the Colorado Public Utilities Commission to provide a detailed report about all rate-case hearings over the past two years.

■ Thursday: The House State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee will debate a bill that would create a voluntary program for businesses to market themselves through a government-run database.

■ Next week: The Legislature will consider a bill that would add seats to the Colorado Mesa University Board of Trustees.
