Trip ends with paper memento

Glenn Pauls of Telluride pinned a sign to his back as he made his way into Stocker Stadium on Monday night to see Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Pauls left a few hours later with the same sign, signed by Palin, her husband, Todd, and Hank Williams Jr.

“Senators, congressmen, lobbyists and Obama all taste like moose to Sarah,” read the sign.
For Pauls, Palin is an easy choice.

“She’s the only conservative who’s running,” he said.

Once he was inside Stocker Stadium, Pauls’ sign, on an 8-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper, got the attention of the Palin campaign and it was handed down several rows.

Todd Palin laughed and signed it, Pauls said, before making Sarah Palin and Williams also sign it and pass it back.

And if everything works out as Pauls hopes, that sign might be a piece of history.

“I’m hoping this will launch her presidential campaign,” he said.
