Venue change denied for teen murder case

GOLDEN — The judge overseeing the case against a teenager charged with kidnapping, killing and dismembering 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway has denied a request to move the trial out of Jefferson County.

Attorneys for 18-year-old Austin Sigg argued that it will be impossible for their client to get a fair trial because of pre-trial publicity.

According to the Denver Post, potential jurors filled out questionnaire and will return to court on Tuesday to be questioned by attorneys. Sigg is charged with murder, kidnapping, sexual assault, robbery and other charges.
