Waterline work begins at 7 on North Ave.

All traffic on North Ave. from Sixth Street to Eleventh Street will be shifted to the north side of the street, with one lane going westbound and another for eastbound traffic, beginning at 7 p.m. tonight.

The shift is due to the installation of a new waterline pipe on the south side of the street. The construction will last from 7 p.m. tonight through 8 a.m. Monday. Work will be done non-stop throughout that time, according to a press release from the city of Grand Junction.

The city is performing about $8 million worth of utility work throughout the summer.
