I disagree with the Sentinel’s call for the sponsor to provide medical expenses. It is stated that each participant must have proof of medical insurance and sign a waiver. Does every sponsor of a dangerous activity provide medical insurance? Do NASCAR, rodeo events, skydiving and bungee jumping companies, amusement parks, surfing competitions, etc. provide medical insurance? I am sure the sponsors of these events have liability insurance in case of negligence but medical insurance? How about a little personal responsibility with the requirement that participants have adequate insurance or don’t participate.
