You Said It Column September 09, 2008

• Mr. Mills of School District 51 is not the one who gave the million dollars away to Mesa State. You did, meaning you voted for the school board members, they voted to give the money to Mesa State they told Mr. Mills to give it to them whether he was for it or against. They are his boss. He has to do what they say or they get someone that will. Thus, if you are looking to blame someone, blame yourselves. If you don’t like it, vote the school board members out.

• I will not vote for another tax for our schools.  Enough with the buildings already!  If you can take Internet classes for college, why can’t you for high school? District 51 should make a deal with a computer company and a wireless Internet company.  Those students who are able to maintain an acceptable grade point average in classes should have the option of working from home in those classes. Those who feel they need a teacher to teach a certain class can hook up through the Internet to view the class at a certain time.  How hard is this, people? The possibilities are unlimited.

• If you were an employer interviewing Obama’s resume for the job he is seeking, would you hire him?
