CU in the Pac-10? What a hoot. They’re hardly competitive in the Big 12. The RMAC would be a much better fit.

Please tell me why volunteers and employees of the Botanical Gardens are cleaning up all the damage done by two idiots?  They are under arrest at this time. Make them clean it up all by themselves until it is in perfect (pre-idiot) condition. When people damage property just for their own bizarre reasons, put them in a bright pink uniform with idiot in jail written on the front and make them fix what they tore up.

Memo to President Barack Obama. Not a good idea to consider plumbing as your next career. You now have two major leaks and not a clue how to fix them. One in the Gulf and one on our southern Arizona border.

Not more than six months ago these commissioners were screaming about how bad socialist medicine plan was going to be with passing the national health care package, and then the commissioners turn around and approve a socialist medical program for the county employees because it will “save money.”  Kind of what President Obama has been saying all along. The tea party commissioners and President Obama on the same page ... amazing!

Let’s hear from you, county employees. Do you want your choice of primary care physician limited to two?

I don’t see why the grand jury is investigating the medical marijuana grown for the dispensary. Didn’t Eric Holder, our federal attorney, say to hold off prosecuting dispensaries, etc., if they follow state law? Hautzinger is not a federal D.A. Too bad if the grand jury is bored.

In response to the two letters about elm trees, I agree with the first person. I wish they were all gone, and I’m not a newcomer to the area. I’ve lived here 17 years. I don’t have one tree in my yard, but I have to deal with the mess from all the neighbors’ trees all year long. The seeds all come up in my flower pots, in my garden and all along the sidewalk. The wind blows them all over the patio, then they stick to my dog’s feet and are tracked into the house. They are a nuisance and are not even a pretty tree.

Does Gary Harmon really consider the BP gusher to be just a “little hiccup?” If that’s really how he sees things, maybe he needs to take a little pleasure trip to the Gulf and enjoy the water.

An interesting article by Bob Hammon on biting gnats/midges/no-see-ums. I discovered out of necessity that a 50/50 mix of Avon Skin So Soft and water is an effective repellent for me. If I do get a gnat bite, it swells up, itches and looks bad for three weeks unless I apply Skeeter Stik very soon after being bitten. It goes away immediately.

The county wanted to sell the courthouse and then rent it back as it would save money? Now they buy the old City Market building because it will save money to own it? Seems to me that the county is sending mixed messages. They want to sell a brand new building but they want to buy and remodel an older-than-heck building. Who has the checkbook down there?

A big thank you to everyone in the community who came out in the big rainstorm last weekend to support the kids’ journal charity garage sale. Some of you got drenched, but you saved the day.

Ace Hardware the helpful place? Better believe it. On the Redlands, shopping at Ace, I realized my keys were locked in the car. They volunteered to take me home for the spare key. Where else do you get service like that?
